Bake Sale + Letter Writing for St. Landry Churches

  • Glitter Box N.O. 1109 Royal Street New Orleans United States (map)

The Glitter Box is having a bake sale fundraiser and letter writing campaign for three churches in St. Landry Parish that were recently burned down. If you want to support and show solidarity, please consider donating baked goods, coming by for some snacks, or just coming by to send a little written love and support! We'll send all cards and money raised directly to the churches.

Bake sale and card writing station will be set up April 30th and May 1st during shop hours (11am - 6pm).

If you would like to pre-order cookies for your office or crew, please email us at!

Background: "In late March and early April, fires consumed St. Mary Baptist Church, Greater Union Baptist Church, and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church within 10 days in St. Landry Parish, La. Longtime pillars of the African American community were reduced to smoldering walls and piles of rubble." (Washington Post article). A man has been arrested and charged with hate crimes in connection with the fires.

There is a Go Fund Me for the churches where you can donate directly:

Although the Glitter Box has no religious affiliation, we are anti-hate and believe all people should be able to practice however they wish.
